The People's security Academy meets The Canadian Forces College Delegation

On March 31, 2026, a delegation from the People’s Security Academy (PSA), led by Major General Nguyen Van Thiet, Vice President of the Academy, held a working session with the Canadian Defence Academy delegation to exchange ideas on cooperation and define key focus areas for the future.

The meeting was attended by Major General Jeannot Boucher, Commander of the Canadian Defence Academy; Mr. Björn Lagerlöf, Senior Advisor to the Commander; Ms. Heather Low, Senior International Affairs Officer at the Dallaire Centre for Peace and Security under the Canadian Defence Academy; and representatives from the Embassy of Canada in Vietnam. Also in attendance were Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Chien, Vice Director of the Department of Science, Strategy, and History of the People’s Public Security; representatives from the Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Public Security; and leaders of various functional units within the Academy.

During the session, the two parties discussed several topics, including: increasing delegation exchanges; sending staff and lecturers for study tours; sharing expertise in digital transformation and university governance; developing platforms for online training and data management; coordinating scientific conferences and professional development courses; and exploring the implementation of joint cooperation projects.

Speaking at the meeting, the leadership of the Canadian Defence Academy expressed interest in Vietnam’s "People's Security Posture" model. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation through the Foreign Relations Department, specifically in sharing experiences regarding digital transformation and the development of "smart school" models and digital university governance.

The working session took place in an atmosphere of friendship and cooperation, making an important contribution to consolidating educational and training ties between the People’s Security Academy and the Canadian Defence Academy. This partnership aligns with the goal of comprehensive international integration for the Public Security sector in the coming period./.
